2008 Presidential Election

Predictions

The republicans only real hope of victory would be a John McCain / Ron Paul ticket. But this seems very unlikely since the republican party today is so much more about “religion” than anything else. This over focus on religion will cause the republican party to implode. Religion should be a personal matter not a public policy or party platform.

  1. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are a passing fancy. When it gets down to the real voting they will not quite make the cut.

  2. Unforunately for Hillary & Barack the country will fall back on what’s “comfortable”. That is a “white male”. I do think the two of them being considered seriously as candidates is a big step towards breaking this cycle.

  3. Oprah Will Help Obama by gaining access and exposure to more voters, which will lead to more money. However this is not likely to translate into more votes or victory. But she will definitely be a great asset and will bring many benefits including additional media coverage.

With Clinton’s status as a cear front runner in question they seem to be playing dirty tricks and down playing expectations. It should be interesing to say the least how all this will play out in Iowa. The Des Moines Register is expected to make presidential endorsements on it’s website tonight. […]
